As I always set up two child accounts, I always find it a bit irritating that I need to loop back through everything again for the second child rather than setting up all the accounts and then moving to the download process. If you have only one child with one device, the setup process is excellent as it does a good job of guiding you and making the process quick and easy. You'll sign into your account on the child's device, and then the app walks you through the process of granting the necessary permissions including installing a profile that allows for the management of their device(s). Like a number of other parental-control services, Qustodio uses separate parent and child apps as kids tend to give their apps terrible ratings. You can either navigate to Qustodio's download page (opens in new tab) or simply download the "Kids App Qustodio" from the relevant app store. The next step is to add a device for the child. The avatars are a bit odd, and you can't upload a photo of your child. You just enter a name and then select a year of birth, a gender and an avatar from a set of six options. The app will then prompt you to create child profiles. The first step is to create your account. My preference is to set these services up through their websites when possible, but if you prefer to stick to your smartphone, the Qustodio apps for Android and iOS make that easy. Chrome OS support is a bit more limited, consisting of the Android app to manage time and a Chrome extension to limit browsing time and monitor activity. Each plan includes all the premium features and full support across Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Kindle Fire. Up to 5 devices can be covered for $54.95 a year, 10 devices for $96.95, and 15 devices for $137.95.ĭevice limits are the only differences between the paid plans. To unlock the full premium features, you can choose from one of three plans, depending on the number of devices you need to protect. Qustodio's pricing has remained pretty static in recent years, with a basic free tier that covers a single device with web filtering, web and social-media monitoring, time limits and an online monitoring dashboard. Qustodio Premium for $54.95 per year (opens in new tab).In addition to these, KidLogger offers an extensive library of over 30 different themes that you can choose from and customize to fit your lifestyle and needs. These free add-ons help you get the most out of your device and make your monitoring experience as easy as possible. If you would like to use KidLogger for parental time control, there are a number of free add-ons which can be found online. With KidLogger, you gain full access to all the information that it logs, which means that you can easily learn important details about what your kids are up to, including screenshots of chat sessions and screen shots taken with private windows. This also makes it convenient to keep track of activity for other purposes such as keeping track of passwords, viewing screenshots, or performing periodic automatic updates. This makes it extremely convenient for parents, who no longer have to take their eyes off the kids to see what's going on. As you move items around the KidLogger interface, new screens pop up to display relevant information. The KidLogger dashboard is extremely easy to use, as it simply requires you to drag and drop entries into a specific folder. Basically, each screen of your android device acts as its own little dashboard that displays all the information that you need at one place. One feature that sets KidLogger apart from other key loggers is its "dashboard". Regardless, the program does an excellent job and comes highly recommended for anyone who has a Windows computer for their kids. In fact, KidLogger actually serves more as an information collector than a key logger, as it logs virtually every message sent to your child via their desktop computer, though the functionality is much different on the more extensive Android versions. One website that really caught my attention however was KidLogger, which allows you to track and log virtually any activity on any computer running Windows. This is not surprising, considering how lucrative (and profitable) blogging has become for websites. It seems that everywhere you turn, someone has written a Windows related blog these days.
